District Mental Health Social Worker
Ms. Otero–Hernandez was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City. She relocated to Orlando, Florida 30 years ago and since then has been calling Orlando, Florida home. Upon graduating from Cathedral High school, she attended Mercy College for her Bachelor’s degree in Social Worker and then attended Fordham University for her Master Degree in Social Work, Clinical Therapy for Children and Families. Ms. Otero-Hernandez has been a Social Worker for 37 years and has worked with Children and Families in providing counseling, support, advocacy and has helped families to be empowered and self-sufficient. She has been working for OCPS for 22 years in which the first 20 years was under the Itinerant School Social Worker Department and for the past two years and entering her third year as the District Mental Health Social Worker. She is currently the Mental Health Social Worker at Legacy Middle School.
