Sunshine State Young Readers Award Books
Legacy students are encouraged to read the Sunshine State Young Readers Award Books. We have these books available at the front of the media center, but they can also be found at your local branch of the Orange County Library System and all major book stores.
Book Fair
Our first Scholastic book fair of the 2019-2020 school year will be held 9/23/19-9/27/19. Check back for our spring dates. Remember, you may shop online before and after the Fair windows as well! http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/legacymiddleschool
Book Clubs
Our Battle of the Books team studies the fifteen SSYRA books all year, and competes against other middle schools. In the history of the school, the team has placed 2nd and 3rd in the district, which was a remarkable achievement and we are so proud of their hard work! This year's team has already started meeting, and the Battle will be held in the Spring of 2019.
Legacy's Discover Something New Book Club meets every Tuesday after school until 5pm. Our book club will introduce readers to different genres that may be totally new to our students. We use Nooks for ebooks and traditional books depending on student preference/title availability. Students need to have a signed permission slip to join. Please see Ms. Murray for any questions.
