Principal's Message

We are moving full steam ahead, and the energy in our hallways and classrooms remains vibrant, focused, and positive. Thank you for your continued partnership as we build strong momentum together.

Maximizing Baseline Data for Individual Success
With the successful completion of our initial FAST Progress Monitoring assessments our instructional teams are diving deep into the results. These baseline metrics give our teachers a clear, actionable picture of where each child stands right now. Over the coming weeks, teachers will be putting this data in action through targeted small-group instruction, personalized learning pathways, and tailored academic support or enrichment.

Strengthening Our Community: Ongoing Conflict Resolution
Alongside academic growth, we remain deeply committed to supporting our students' social and emotional well-being. Learning how to navigate peer disagreements with maturity and empathy is an essential life skill. We ask that you continue having open conversations at home about constructive ways to handle frustration and conflict:

  • Take a Pause: Encourage your child to count to ten or take a deep breath before reacting when feeling overwhelmed.
  • Communicate Clearly: Help them practice using simple statements to share how they feel without escalating the situation.
  • Seek Adult Support Early: Reiterate that reaching out to a teacher, counselor, or administrator is always the right call when a disagreement feels too big to handle alone.

When school and home work together to reinforce self-regulation and respectful communication, our campus stays a safe, welcoming haven where all students can learn without disruption. Thank you for your unwavering support of our school community!

Together we work, and together we grow.

Go Jets!

Bus Driver Appreciation

Bus Driver Appreciation Breakfast

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible bus drivers for everything they do to safely transport our students each day. To show our appreciation, Legacy Middle School hosted a Bus Driver Appreciation Breakfast in their honor.

We hope our drivers enjoyed the special breakfast and felt the gratitude and recognition they truly deserve. Their dedication, kindness, and commitment to our students make a difference every day, and we are thankful for all they do for our school community.

Thank you, bus drivers, for helping our students arrive safely and ready to learn each day! 🚌💙

School Advisory Council (SAC)

Hello Legacy SAC Community

Thank you for your interest in Legacy Middle School’s School Advisory Council (SAC) for the 2026–27 school year. Our first SAC meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at 6:00 PM at Legacy Middle School Cafeteria.

For those new to SAC, the School Advisory Council is a group made up of parents, teachers, school staff, community members, and the principal who work together to support the school and help guide its priorities.

Some of SAC’s primary responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing school performance data and helping identify areas of focus for the school
  • Assisting with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan
  • Providing input on school goals, priorities, and initiatives
  • Reviewing and providing input regarding certain school improvement funds and resources
  • Creating an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to provide input and participate in discussions affecting Legacy Middle School
Our meetings generally focus on updates from school leadership, discussion of the School Improvement Plan and school data, consideration of items requiring SAC input or approval, and discussion of topics important to the Legacy community.

SAC Voting Membership for 2026–27
As we prepare for the new school year, we are beginning the process of establishing SAC voting membership for 2026–27.

If you are interested in serving as a voting member of SAC this year, please complete the registration of interest form below by Tuesday, September 1:

Current SAC voting members who would like to continue serving should also complete the form so we can confirm your interest for the upcoming year.

After the registration period closes, candidate information will be compiled and a ballot will be distributed to the Legacy parent/guardian community. Parents and guardians will vote to elect the parent/guardian representatives who will serve as voting members of SAC. Once elected, SAC members will participate in meetings and vote on matters that come before the council.

SAC Election Timeline
  • Tuesday, September 1: Registration of Interest closes
  • Wednesday, September 2: Parent/guardian election ballot distributed
  • Tuesday, September 8: Voting closes

Whether you choose to serve as a voting member or simply attend meetings, SAC meetings are open to the public, and we welcome participation from the entire Legacy community.

Thank you to everyone who has served on SAC in the past and to those interested in getting involved this year. I’m looking forward to working with Principal Lauren Smith and all of you as we begin another year supporting Legacy Middle School.

See you on September 15!
