Principal's Message

We are beginning this week with Ms. Fray's 8th Grade Student-Led Business Exploration Fair. On Tuesday we finish our end of the year testing. Make-ups will be conducted all week long. Please make arrangements for your child to arrive on time and remain for the entire school day if they missed any final exams.

Thank you for all you do to support our students and school community. Let’s finish the year strong together!

Congratulations, Ms. Thomas!

Last week, Ms. Thomas successfully defended her data presentation about Legacy for the Preparation for Future Principals Academy. She is now eligible to serve as a school principal in the state of Florida.

Time to Return Your Library Books!

The library is closed for the remainder of the year except for book returns. All library books should be returned by Friday, May 15th.

Summer at Your Library Begins June 1!

There will be many fun and interesting classes and events across all OCLS branches!

Registration for June classes and programs opened May 1.
Registration for July classes and programs opens June 1.
Reading Challenge Goodie Bags for this summer are packed with lots of fun items. Participating readers (ages 0-18) who complete the reading challenge by reading 30 days between June 1 and July 26 can pick up a goodie bag at any branch starting July 1, while supplies last.
We have amazing Grand Prizes for our reading challenge, too! Readers (ages 0-18) who complete the challenge by July 26 will be entered into the virtual drawing for a chance to win a grand prize.
There is also a bonus challenge! Complete the bonus activities for an extra chance to win a grand prize!
Participants must turn in their completed reading tracker page and grand prize entry form by July 26, 6:00 PM, to be entered into the drawing.
All 15 library locations will host events to celebrate summer and reading!

Important Reminder

State Mandated Cell Phone Policy

Reminder: State-Mandated Cell Phone Policy All cell phones must be silenced and stored out of sight—either in a backpack or purse—for the entire school day, from 9:25 AM to 4:04 PM. This rule is set by the state and applies to everyone on campus..

YMCA Before and After School Program

If you're interested in enrolling your child in the YMCA Before or After School Program, please refer to the link for more details.

Any student on campus before 9:00 AM or staying after school for activities such as clubs, performing arts, sports, or other events must be signed into the YMCA program.

Morning Program: Begins at 7:00 AM and includes a small fee.
After School Zone: Free for all participants and offers homework support, snacks, meals, and a variety of engaging activities each day.

Attendance is flexible—students are not required to attend daily and can participate according to your family's schedule and preferences.
