Principal's Message

Greetings, Jets.

Last week our students took the PMAs for Civics, Science, Algebra, and Geometry. They worked hard and stayed focused throughout the assessments, and we are proud of the effort they put into demonstrating what they’ve learned. Results will help us identify strengths and areas where additional support may be helpful as we prepare for a strong finish to the school year.

This Thursday, our students and staff will take part in the Legacy World Showcase and our Spring Pep Rally. Many students and staff members will present cultural displays, food, activities, and music representing a variety of countries. To end the day, students will enjoy the pep rally, where several staff members will face off against the student basketball teams. If you would like to pre-pay for your student to enjoy Kona Ice before the Pep Rally, please refer to the flyer below.

Parents, if you're available on Thursday, please consider spending the day with us and being apart of our events! You must be ADDitions approved.

We need your help with an accurate lunch count for this Thursday. Please complete the form below to let us know whether your child will be attending school the day before Spring Break. Your response is greatly appreciated!

Reminder that students who ride bikes and scooters to and from Legacy need to wear a helmet. This is state law for anyone under the age of 16.

We hope you enjoy a relaxing and fun Spring Break! Take this time to rest, recharge, and make great memories. We look forward to welcoming you back when school resumes.

Transitioning to High School

Attention 8th Grade Parents

Congratulations on this educational milestone for your student! Transitioning to High School is exciting and should be smooth and without any delays. In an effort to ensure all student’s records are accurate and up to date, we are requiring parents to provide updated current proof of address to Ms. Silva school registrar in room 118.

This documentation should be provided to the school by close of business April 15, 2026.
Failure to provide updated verification of residence will result in your child’s withdrawal from OCPS and you risk your student not having a schedule for the start of the 2026 school year.

To verify your address, you must provide the following:
  • If you own a house: warranty deed, property taxes, closing contract, or homestead exemption card along with: current utility bill, your ID with current address, and current mail.
  • If you rent a house or apartment: signed lease along with: your ID with your current address, recent utility bill, proof of rent payments, current mail, and renters’ insurance.
  • If you live with someone who owns or rents the house: you must obtain an updated Verification of Residence from Student Enrollment Office. Please make an appointment online or call 407-317-3233.

You will need to provide a minimum of the following documents:
  1. Your ID with current address.
  2. Three items with your name and address dated within the last month, such as car registration, paystub, bank statement, insurance, phone bill, or current mail.
  3. In addition, you must provide the ID of the lease or homeowner and a copy of the lease or proof of homeownership.

More documentation may be required depending on the circumstances in a case-by-case situation.

If you have any further questions please email Ms. Silva at 140351@ocps.net.

Increased Enrollment

The PTSA is excited about the possibility of increased enrollment at Legacy Middle School next year. More students help the school by increasing funding through higher enrollment, availability of more staff and teaching positions, enabling a more diverse, vibrant, and collaborative learning community. Increased attendance and participation in school activities foster a better, more engaging environment, allowing for enhanced extracurriculars, improved social skill, development, and greater community impact.

Winter Wonderland Dance

We had an amazing time hosting the Winter Wonderland Dance last Friday. We hope the students enjoyed it and can't wait to host another next year.
