Greetings, Jets.
Last Thursday, we hosted our second Open House for our incoming 6th graders and new families joining us next year. It was a wonderful opportunity for prospective students to explore our exciting electives and programs, as well as tour different areas of the school. Thank you to our staff, students, and Partners in Education who joined us and helped support our Legacy community.
Our PTSA hosted a Winter Dance for our students last Friday. Thank you to the parent volunteers and staff members who helped make it a fun and memorable experience for everyone.
This week, students will be taking their PMAs for Civics, Science, Algebra, and Geometry. Please remind your child to take their time and do their very best. As we remind students all the time, we're not looking for perfection, we're looking for growth.
Families, please review Skyward and Canvas with your child over the next two weeks. Please contact your child's teacher if you notice any issues with assignments or grades. The third quarter ends on Friday, March 13th.

Congratulations on this educational milestone for your student! Transitioning to High School is exciting and should be smooth and without any delays. In an effort to ensure all student’s records are accurate and up to date, we are requiring parents to provide updated current proof of address to Ms. Silva school registrar in room 118.
This documentation should be provided to the school by close of business April 15, 2026.
Failure to provide updated verification of residence will result in your child’s withdrawal from OCPS and you risk your student not having a schedule for the start of the 2026 school year.
To verify your address, you must provide the following:
- If you own a house: warranty deed, property taxes, closing contract, or homestead exemption card along with: current utility bill, your ID with current address, and current mail.
- If you rent a house or apartment: signed lease along with: your ID with your current address, recent utility bill, proof of rent payments, current mail, and renters’ insurance.
- If you live with someone who owns or rents the house: you must obtain an updated Verification of Residence from Student Enrollment Office. Please make an appointment online or call 407-317-3233.
You will need to provide a minimum of the following documents:
- Your ID with current address.
- Three items with your name and address dated within the last month, such as car registration, paystub, bank statement, insurance, phone bill, or current mail.
- In addition, you must provide the ID of the lease or homeowner and a copy of the lease or proof of homeownership.
More documentation may be required depending on the circumstances in a case-by-case situation.
If you have any further questions please email Ms. Silva at 140351@ocps.net.

In Financial Literacy, students are completing a hands‑on scavenger hunt—finding photos and sorting them into the correct folders labeled Wants and Needs. It’s an exciting, active way to build real‑world money‑smart skills!

The Let's Read OCPS Reading Challenge is running until April 30! Legacy Middle School has set a reading goal of 190,300 minutes for the Let's Read OCPS Reading Challenge! So far, we have over 14,000 minutes logged by our students and staff.
Help us reach the goal by logging your minutes in Beanstack each time you read. Remember, 10 minutes of daily reading can help build that habit and take you on a journey! 📚 #OCPSReads @ocps_official

We’re so close to reaching Pathfinder status! We just need a few more participants to log their first set of minutes in Beanstack to hit our 75% goal

Parents, please fill out this form to indicate whether or not you approve of your child attending, participating in, and experiencing any activities Legacy Middle School plans for our students' entertainment, experience, and learning opportunities both during and after school through the end of the school year. If you would like your child to opt out of any upcoming events or activities, please indicate which activities in the last question of this form.

Some of our upcoming events and activities include, but are not limited to:

We know that our community appreciates efficiency. That's why we're providing you with one form for the rest of this school year to consolidate and streamline parental consent forms like we did last year. This will benefit you so you will not be inundated with multiple requests.
