What is your name and your role?
“My name is Jason Jimenez, and I'm the principal of Legacy Middle School.”
What is your favorite moment in the NFL, and who did you play for?
“First of all, the teams I played with were the Oakland Raiders and the Green Bay Packers. My favorite moment in the National Football League would have been in 2003. I know a very long time ago where we were the NFC North champions. That was a huge milestone, and that was my rookie year in the NFL.”
What do you do in your free time?
“In my free time, I spend time with my family. I have two children, and I like to spend a lot of time with my family and doing things with them. I also coach offensive line and defensive line, and long snappers on the weekends. I’m still connected with football even though I’m no longer a player.”
How do you feel about the students at this school?
“How do I feel about the students at this school? I feel like the students are like my second children. I treat you like I treat my own kids because I want to make sure that we have what it takes to be successful the same way that instills the same values in my kids with everything that I do with the decisions that I make in the way which we interact and you and I feel very strongly about you guys because I want all of you to succeed as if you were my own”
If you had any superpower, what would it be?
“My superpower would be to travel back in time to see how things were in history before we got to this point. Before I became a principal, I was a U.S. history teacher, so that would be nice to see in detail.”
How do you feel about the future of the students here at Legacy?
“I feel strongly about the future of the students. I think that this student body is very resilient. I think that when we encounter adversity on this campus, whether it is something at home, whether it's something here on campus, students here bounce back. We don't let things get us down. And I think that's very positive. I think that's a very positive attribute for our kids. It's important for when life happens. When life happens, it's very important for our kids and for all of the adults included to find a solution and find a positive way to move forward. So I think that's a very important attribute that all of our students are working towards developing.”
