School Start Times Survey

An informational graphic about a survey on school start times.Beginning Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Orange County Public Schools invites all families and community members to participate in the School Start Times Survey to help the district decide whether to change school start times for High Schools and Elementary Schools. Your participation is important because it ensures all our families’ voices are heard in this process.

Florida Statute mandates that school districts set middle and high school start times later in the morning, unless the district can provide a report including how their students, employees, families, and community members feel about the change.

Research stresses the importance of middle and high school students getting enough sleep, and moving high school start times to later in the morning may help. The change would also mean that elementary students would start later in the morning than high school and middle school students, which could present challenges for our community.

You will receive a Parent Square email or text with the link to the survey. You can also use the QR code below. Please take a moment to answer the questions. The family survey is available in English, Spanish (Español), Portuguese (Português), Haitian Creole (Kreyòl), Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt), and Arabic (عربي).

The survey begins November 11, 2025, and closes on November 21, 2025.

The survey is anonymous, which means no one will know how you answered the questions, so please provide honest, thoughtful feedback.
