Principal's Message

Greetings, Jets!

Legacy Middle School is experiencing a powerful resurgence—and it’s transforming more than just classrooms. With a newly earned ‘B’ grade, just a few points shy of an ‘A’ rating, Legacy is proving that academic excellence and community pride go hand in hand.

This momentum is more than a school story—it’s a real estate success story. When schools thrive, property values rise, neighborhoods strengthen, and families flourish.

Why Legacy’s Success Matters to You:
Academic Growth = Economic Growth Homes in top-rated school zones in Florida sell for 20–30% more, and each grade improvement can boost nearby property values by 2.5%.📈

A Strong School Builds a Stronger Market As Legacy climbs toward an ‘A’ rating, demand for homes in our zone increases—driving up values and creating a more vibrant, stable community.

Better Schools, Better Sales Homes near thriving schools sell faster, retain value longer, and attract more competitive offers.

The Power of Coming Home:
To fully realize this opportunity, we need all students zoned for Legacy Middle School to return to Legacy. By choosing Legacy, families help:

  • Strengthen the school’s academic performance
  • Increase funding and resources through enrollment
  • Elevate the reputation and desirability of our neighborhoods
  • Boost property values for every homeowner in the zone

Every student who returns to Legacy helps lift our school—and our home values. Legacy’s success is your success. Let’s build it together. Please encourage your neighbors and friends to give us a call and learn what we have we have to offer.

Orange County Snapshot:
Since 2020, median home prices in Orange County have risen from $300K to over $435K. Schools like Legacy play a key role in this growth. Let’s keep the momentum going. Legacy isn’t just where your child learns—it’s where your investment grows. Help us rally behind our school, our students, and our shared future.

Last Friday, students enjoyed a donuts from our PTSA, and our Fall Pep Rally. We also celebrated our students who earned a 4.0 GPA in the first quarter.

This Tuesday, our students will participate in the Student Government Association (SGA) election, casting their votes to help select this year's student leaders.

We’re thrilled to present The Jungle Book Kids, performed by our talented Legacy Theater students! Join us for a fun-filled evening that the whole family will enjoy as we celebrate the hard work and creativity of our amazing cast.

In just a few weeks, we’ll be hosting our annual Teach-In event. If you have a job, hobby, or special skill you'd love to share with our students, we’d be delighted to have you participate! For more information or to sign up, please contact Ms. Haynes.

Our next round of assessments is just one month away! During the first week of December, students will take the PM2 FAST ELA and Math assessments, followed by Common Fina

Not planning to present but still want to contribute? We’re also seeking donations of food items or goody bag contents to show appreciation for our presenters.

🍩Donut forget to support Legacy PTSA🍩

We had a fantastic time surprising the kids with free Halloween donuts Friday morning! Not only were the children excited, they were gracious and kind. We would also like to thank Publix Supermarket at Curry Ford Square for the delicious donuts!

Teachers and staff sent Mr. Jimenez on a campus-wide scavenger hunt that led to laughs, gifts and appreciation. Many thanks to all for making this a memorable experience for Principal Jimenez!

Staff Spotlight - Mr. Kamperveen

A man smiles widely, enjoying a bite of a pastry.
Justin Kamperveen is a world history teacher for the 6th grade. If Mr Kamperveen could change something about Legacy, he would add a naptime. He has not had a paranormal experience.. yet.. Some of his hobbies are anything to do with a body of water and gaming. He owns no pets, but if he were to own one, he would own a street cat. If Mr. Kamperveen weren't a teacher, he would do voice acting!
