Principal's Message

A Strong Start to the School Year! We’re off to a fantastic beginning—thank you to our students and staff for making the first week of the 2025–2026 school year smooth, productive, and full of positive energy!

Important Reminders for Families:
  • Students arriving before 9:00 AM or staying after 4:30 PM (including for athletics, clubs, or other after-school programs) must be registered with the YMCA.
  • The late bell rings at 9:30 AM, so please plan accordingly.
  • Upon arrival, students are invited to stop by the cafeteria for a free breakfast—a great way to start the day!
  • This year, all meals are free for OCPS families, thanks to district-wide support.

We’re excited for another engaging and successful week ahead on the flight deck. Let’s keep soaring! 🚀

Warm regards,

Jason Jimenez

30-30 Rule for Inclement Weather

The 30-30 Rule

For our families new to Legacy, at dismissal and no sooner, please note that during times of inclement weather, we follow the nationally recognized '30/30 Rule'. If thunder is heard within 30 seconds of a lightning strike, students will not be dismissed until 30 minutes have passed from the last sound of thunder. Parents and guardians may sign their child out during these situations at the main office.
